I've been tutoring and teaching Spanish for sixteen years. I am a native Spanish speaker, and I spoke only Spanish till I was eighteen. Spanish literature was a very important aspect of my high school education, and I highly enjoyed reading both Spanish and Latin American novels. I was taught by excellent teachers, and I graduated from high school with honors. My college education was equally strong. I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Advertising from the School of Journalism at Ohio State and graduated with honors. A few years later, I graduated with a Master's Degree in Telecommunications Arts (film/TV) from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, for which I was awarded a full scholarship/fellowship. Because of my advanced studies in both English and Spanish, I am able to explain complex grammar concepts and give students the meanings to many words. These days, I write fiction in English and Spanish and continue studying both languages. I've also been a singer for many years, which has helped me become very conscious of my speech. I can mimic multiple accents from Spanish speaking countries, and I have a strong command of standard Spanish diction at a broadcasting level. I can also do simultaneous interpreting of conversations. And I enjoy performing Improv in both languages.
